Noble Foundation

Creu 5 was born into prestige. In 1411, it was chosen by the Carthusian Order — one of Europe’s most respected and austere monastic communities — as the site of Palma’s first monastic guesthouse. Known as the Posada de Cartoixa, it welcomed high-ranking clergy and dignitaries traveling through the island. Its location beside the revered Santa Creu church and within Palma’s noble quarter speaks volumes: from its inception, this was a place of status, spirituality, and intellectual quietude, firmly rooted in Mallorca’s elite religious and cultural life.

17th - 19th Century

Residence for the Influential

As Palma grew into a Mediterranean power, so too did Creu 5 evolve. In the 17th century, it became a residence of choice for seafarers of rank, wealthy merchants, and rising members of the city’s commercial aristocracy. Its grand portal, stone patio, and harmonious proportions made it a hallmark of discretion and refinement — a true casa gran. Later, under the stewardship of the Sard family, the building was associated with figures of civic prestige, including a Royal Customs officer. Renovations by esteemed architect Antoni Sureda i Villalonga in the 19th century further elevated its architectural importance, layering modern sophistication over centuries of noble heritage.

With over 20 years of experience, Blanc i Blanc focuses on high-end residential and hospitality projects, including new builds and full-scale renovations. Their work is defined by precise execution, refined interior finishes, and strong project coordination, supported by transparent cost control and efficient planning.

Together, the two firms offer a complementary blend of expertise heritage restoration and premium construction supported by deep local knowledge and a shared reputation for quality and reliability. Their combined portfolio includes luxury villas, boutique hotels, listed buildings, and multi-unit developments across Mallorca.

BO‑ARQ is a Palma-based architecture studio led by Bernardo Oliver, with roots dating back to 1995 and formally established in 2002. The firm comprises a multidisciplinary team of architects, technical architects, and draftsmen, including key collaborator Javier Márquez, who also serves as architect and builder supervisor. Their expertise spans a wide range of building typologies, from single- and multi-family residences to public buildings and hospitality projects.

With over 900 completed projects between 2002 and 2022, BO‑ARQ brings more than two decades of proven experience. Their portfolio includes refined private homes, boutique hotels such as Hotel Artà in Mallorca, hospitality venues like Cappuccino Ibiza, and various public facilities demonstrating versatility in both new construction and restoration across diverse scales and sectors.
